A Nursery Fit For A Princess
I have to admit, my favorite part of this little journey thus far, designing, shopping for and setting up little babes’ room!
The moment we found out we were having a girl, we (mainly I) were off!! I do have to say, my camera was already prepped with options for both boy and girl, ready to take action once we found out.
I had a vision of making it a room fit for a little princess with a tenderness of animals added to it.
Mommy did the decorating and daddy did the building!
We had a blast putting it all together and it was a great task to make the whole experience more “real” prepping us for the excitement to come. Now, each time we walk past this perfect little room, we are pleasantly reminded of the new addition about to arrive into our family.
It all began from a pintrest inspiration and a love for elephants. We had decided on a soft pink and grey color scheme that would be soft enough for baby and girly enough for mommy. Daddy painted the walls and we ordered these rose gold dots from Amazon. The are super easy to put up and come off as easily!
I loved the idea of having her initial on the wall and wanted to add a personal touch to it. This frame “L” was easy and affordable to make.
The moment I saw this elephant quote, I knew it had to be on the wall in her nursery. I searched far and wide for the perfect wall decal and found just what we were looking for on Amazon. I am so happy with how it turned out and I think it speaks perfectly to how we feel now that we will “have” her.
Adding a little shelf was also a must to her room because we have requested books instead of cards for our shower, prepping little girl to be a book worm from the start!
The elephant theme continued as I found these quote photos that bubbled my emotions from the inside out! Of course, we had to add a few pairs of converse to match mommy and a tiara for our princess.
This fisher price bassinet was highly recommended to us which made our job much easier! I love that it’s perfect for a summer baby, it has a white noise, music, vibration and light show machine. The mobile was a beautiful hand made gift that fit our theme perfectly while being a special personalized piece.
Is there anything more fun than outfit shopping for a little girl? I sure can’t think of a thing! I knew I wanted the closet super organized because who has time to look for the right size onesie when you’re changing your babes in the middle of the night? These little chalk dividers came in super handy and the hangers fit our theme perfectly. Lets just say we may need more storage after the baby shower…
If you haven’t caught on already, I like to be organized! I love how small and convenient this little storage shelf is while still fitting our organizer bins. The labels make it super easy to grab what we need and go.
The most difficult purchase had to have been the rocking chair! I knew I would be spending A LOT of time in it feeding little one, so it had to be comfy! The thing is, we also had limited room. This one was perfect both comfort and size, bonus, the color was just what I was looking for and it has a rocking foot stool. The rug just brought the whole room together nicely.
The crib purchase required a lot of research! We wanted something that was safe, accessible, had a simple and clean look and a crib that would convert to a bed. This was the perfect fit for our needs and the sweet details added (blankets, stuffies and pillow) were thoughtful gifts from our friends and clients.
We were lucky to find the perfect pair to our crib with this change table. I loved that it has storage below (you need SO much storage) where I could add in more bins for blankets, sheets and diapers. I picked up the hanging bins from the dollar store which are perfect for baby lotion, wipes, diaper rash cream and anything you need to have on hand for quick use. I found the mirror by fluke at Winners and it was just what I imagined to complete her room, fit just right. The curtain rods had such delicate details and the curtain itself was a great addition for a little privacy, tying the room together while still allowing natural light.
What princess room doesn’t have a chandelier? Marcus thought I was crazy and was not too into this idea. He couldn’t imagine how we would find one small enough for her room and at a reasonable price. Well, when Tea has her mind set on something, she makes it happen. This was a steal of a deal, looks so beautiful in her little room and adds that little “DIVA” that we all know she will be.
Once complete, this room was better than both hubby and I had imagined and I can’t wait to bring our little babes home to her new nursery, fit for a princess!
